O goddess, queen of the gods, blessed Ganga, savior of the three worlds with your flowing waves, who eternally plays on Shiva’s crown - remove my sorrow, the difficulty of crossing the ocean of worldly existence.

gaṅgā tārayatīti niścitamataḥ sarvārthasiddhiḥ kila yadhastāmbujakalpitā śivaśiraḥ pīṭhe samarpyate | yasyā mūrdhni cakāra bhāskaracūḍaṃ rājarṣibhiḥ sevitam tasmai devi namo namaḥ punarahaṃ gaṅge namaste sadā ||2||

It is certain that Ganga liberates - therefore all accomplishments are achieved when the water from her lotus-like hand is offered on the seat of Shiva’s head. On whose head the sun-like ones, served by royal sages, placed her - to that goddess, salutations again and again. O Ganga, my salutations to you always.
