|| बुद्धस्तोत्रम् ||
बुद्धरूपं महाशान्तं ज्ञानदं मोक्षदायकम् । अहिंसाप्राणिनां नाथं वन्दे बुद्धं कृपानिधिम् ॥१॥
buddharūpaṃ mahāśāntaṃ jñānadaṃ mokṣadāyakam | ahiṃsāprāṇināṃ nāthaṃ vande buddhaṃ kṛpānidhim ||1||
I bow to the Buddha, the greatly peaceful one, the giver of knowledge, the bestower of liberation, the lord of all beings committed to non-violence, the treasure of compassion.
वेदबाह्यं मतं कृत्वा हिंसां विहाय सर्वतः । दयाधर्मं प्रकटितं बुद्धं वन्दे जगद्गुरुम् ॥२॥
vedabāhyaṃ mataṃ kṛtvā hiṃsāṃ vihāya sarvataḥ | dayādharmaṃ prakaṭitaṃ buddhaṃ vande jagadgurum ||2||
I bow to the Buddha, the teacher of the world, who established a path beyond the Vedas, renounced all violence, and revealed the dharma of compassion.
