Saraswati Stotram
|| श्रीसरस्वतीस्तोत्रम् ||
Verse 1
या कुन्देन्दुतुषारहारधवला या शुभ्रवस्त्रावृता या वीणावरदण्डमण्डितकरा या श्वेतपद्मासना । या ब्रह्माच्युतशङ्करप्रभृतिभिर्दैवैः सदा वन्दिता सा मां पातु सरस्वती भगवती निःशेषजाड्यापहा ॥१॥
yā kundendutuṣārahāradhavalā yā śubhravastrāvṛtā yā vīṇāvaradaṇḍamaṇḍitakarā yā śvetapadmāsanā | yā brahmācyutaśaṅkaraprabhṛtibhirdaivaiḥ sadā vanditā sā māṃ pātu sarasvatī bhagavatī niḥśeṣajāḍyāpahā ||1||
May Goddess Saraswati, who is fair like the jasmine flower, the moon, and the garland of snow; who is clad in white garments; whose hands are adorned with the veena; who sits on the white lotus; who is always worshipped by Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva and other gods; and who removes all dullness and ignorance - may she protect me.
Verse 2
शुक्लां ब्रह्मविचारसारपरमामाद्यां जगद्व्यापिनीं वीणा-पुस्तक-धारिणीमभयदां जाड्यान्धकारापहाम् । हस्ते स्फटिकमालिकां विदधतीं पद्मासने संस्थिताम् वन्दे तां परमेश्वरीं भगवतीं बुद्धिप्रदां शारदाम् ॥२॥
śuklāṃ brahmavicārasāraparamāmādyāṃ jagadvyāpinīṃ vīṇā-pustaka-dhāriṇīmabhayadāṃ jāḍyāndhakārāpahām | haste sphaṭikamālikāṃ vidadhatīṃ padmāsane saṃsthitāṃ vande tāṃ parameśvarīṃ bhagavatīṃ buddhipradāṃ śāradām ||2||
I bow to Goddess Sharada, who is white, who embodies the essence of contemplation on Brahman, who is the primal energy pervading the universe; who holds the veena and book in her hands, granting fearlessness; who dispels the darkness of ignorance; who holds a crystal rosary; who is seated on the lotus; who is the Supreme Goddess, bestower of wisdom.
Verse 3
सरस्वति नमस्तुभ्यं वरदे कामरूपिणि । विद्यारम्भं करिष्यामि सिद्धिर्भवतु मे सदा ॥३॥
sarasvati namastubhyaṃ varade kāmarūpiṇi | vidyārambhaṃ kariṣyāmi siddhirbhavatu me sadā ||3||
O Saraswati, salutations to You, O bestower of boons, O one who fulfills all desires. I begin my study. May I always attain success.
Verse 4
सरस्वति नमस्तुभ्यं सर्वदेवि नमो नमः । शान्तिरूपे नमस्तुभ्यं नमस्ते ब्रह्मरूपिणि ॥४॥
sarasvati namastubhyaṃ sarvadevi namo namaḥ | śāntirūpe namastubhyaṃ namaste brahmarūpiṇi ||4||
O Saraswati, salutations to You. O goddess of all, salutations again and again. O embodiment of peace, salutations to You. Salutations to You who are Brahman itself.
Verse 5
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु विद्यारूपेण संस्थिता । नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः ॥५॥
yā devī sarvabhūteṣu vidyārūpeṇa saṃsthitā | namastasyai namastasyai namastasyai namo namaḥ ||5||
The Goddess who dwells in all beings as knowledge - salutations to Her, salutations to Her, salutations to Her again and again.
Verse 6
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु बुद्धिरूपेण संस्थिता । नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः ॥६॥
yā devī sarvabhūteṣu buddhirūpeṇa saṃsthitā | namastasyai namastasyai namastasyai namo namaḥ ||6||
The Goddess who dwells in all beings as intelligence - salutations to Her, salutations to Her, salutations to Her again and again.
Verse 7
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु शान्तिरूपेण संस्थिता । नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः ॥७॥
yā devī sarvabhūteṣu śāntirūpeṇa saṃsthitā | namastasyai namastasyai namastasyai namo namaḥ ||7||
The Goddess who dwells in all beings as peace - salutations to Her, salutations to Her, salutations to Her again and again.
Verse 8
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु श्रद्धारूपेण संस्थिता । नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः ॥८॥
yā devī sarvabhūteṣu śraddhārūpeṇa saṃsthitā | namastasyai namastasyai namastasyai namo namaḥ ||8||
The Goddess who dwells in all beings as faith - salutations to Her, salutations to Her, salutations to Her again and again.
Verse 9
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु क्षमारूपेण संस्थिता । नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः ॥९॥
yā devī sarvabhūteṣu kṣamārūpeṇa saṃsthitā | namastasyai namastasyai namastasyai namo namaḥ ||9||
The Goddess who dwells in all beings as forgiveness - salutations to Her, salutations to Her, salutations to Her again and again.
Verse 10
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु जननीरूपेण संस्थिता । नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः ॥१०॥
yā devī sarvabhūteṣu jananīrūpeṇa saṃsthitā | namastasyai namastasyai namastasyai namo namaḥ ||10||
The Goddess who dwells in all beings as the mother - salutations to Her, salutations to Her, salutations to Her again and again.
Verse 11
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु मातृरूपेण संस्थिता । नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः ॥११॥
yā devī sarvabhūteṣu mātṛrūpeṇa saṃsthitā | namastasyai namastasyai namastasyai namo namaḥ ||11||
The Goddess who dwells in all beings as the motherly principle - salutations to Her, salutations to Her, salutations to Her again and again.
॥ इति श्रीसरस्वतीस्तोत्रम् सम्पूर्णम् ॥
