|| श्रीलक्ष्मीस्तोत्रम् ||

Verse 1

नमस्तेऽस्तु महामाये श्रीपीठे सुरपूजिते । शङ्खचक्रगदाहस्ते महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तु ते ॥१॥

namaste’stu mahāmāye śrīpīṭhe surapūjite | śaṅkhacakragadāhaste mahālakṣmi namo’stu te ||1||

Salutations to You, O Great Maya, O shrine of prosperity, worshipped by the gods. O Mahalakshmi, whose hands hold the conch, discus, and mace - salutations to You.

Verse 2

नमस्ते गरुडारूढे वैकुण्ठे ब्रह्मवादिनि । विष्णोर्वक्षःस्थले देवि ब्रह्मानन्दे नमोऽस्तु ते ॥२॥

namaste garuḍārūḍhe vaikuṇṭhe brahmavādini | viṣṇorvakṣaḥsthale devi brahmānande namo’stu te ||2||

Salutations to You, who rides Garuda, who dwells in Vaikuntha, who speaks of Brahman. O Goddess, who resides on Vishnu’s chest, O bliss of Brahman - salutations to You.

Verse 3

नमस्ते पद्मपत्राक्षि पद्मोद्भवे पद्मालये । पद्मप्रिये पद्महस्ते पद्मिनि पद्मधारिणि ॥३॥

namaste padmapatrākṣi padmodbhave padmālaye | padmapriye padmahaste padmini padmadhāriṇi ||3||

Salutations to You, O lotus-eyed one, born from the lotus, abiding in the lotus, loving the lotus, holding the lotus, O goddess adorned with lotuses, bearing lotuses.

Verse 4

चत्वारः सागराः शुद्धा द्वीपा नव च भूमयः । यद्भयाद्विष्णुना धार्ता तस्मै लक्ष्म्यै नमो नमः ॥४॥

catvāraḥ sāgarāḥ śuddhā dvīpā nava ca bhūmayaḥ | yadbhayādviṣṇunā dhārtā tasmai lakṣmyai namo namaḥ ||4||

The four pure oceans, the nine islands, and the worlds - all are sustained by Vishnu out of reverence for You. To that Lakshmi, salutations again and again.

Verse 5

सृष्टिस्थितिविनाशानां कारणं यत्सनातनम् । यद्वशाद्वर्तते विश्वं तस्मै लक्ष्म्यै नमो नमः ॥५॥

sṛṣṭisthitivināśānāṃ kāraṇaṃ yatsanātanam | yadvaśādvartate viśvaṃ tasmai lakṣmyai namo namaḥ ||5||

You are the eternal cause of creation, preservation, and dissolution. The universe functions under Your will. To that Lakshmi, salutations again and again.

Verse 6

सर्वमङ्गलमाङ्गल्ये सर्वपापहरे शिवे । सर्वसौभाग्यदे देवि सर्वारिष्टहरे नमः ॥६॥

sarvamaṅgalamāṅgalye sarvapāpahare śive | sarvasaubhāgyade devi sarvāriṣṭahare namaḥ ||6||

O most auspicious of all auspiciousness, O remover of all sins, O peaceful one, O bestower of all good fortune, O remover of all obstacles - salutations to You.

Verse 7

धनं धान्यं सुतं पुत्रं सर्वमाप्नोति मानवः । य एतत्पठते स्तोत्रं लक्ष्मीसूक्तमतः परम् ॥७॥

dhanaṃ dhānyaṃ sutaṃ putraṃ sarvamāpnoti mānavaḥ | ya etatpaṭhate stotraṃ lakṣmīsūktamataḥ param ||7||

The person who recites this hymn or the supreme Lakshmi Sukta attains wealth, grain, children, and everything desirable.

Verse 8

लक्ष्मीं क्षीरोद्भवां देवीं नारायणसहोदरीम् । क्षीरोदधिमथोत्पन्नां वन्दे लक्ष्मीं जगत्प्रभाम् ॥८॥

lakṣmīṃ kṣīrodbhavāṃ devīṃ nārāyaṇasahodarīm | kṣīrodadhimathotpannāṃ vande lakṣmīṃ jagatprabhām ||8||

I bow to Lakshmi, the goddess born from the ocean of milk, the sister of Narayana, who arose from the churning of the ocean of milk - Lakshmi, the sovereign of the universe.
