Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra (महामृत्युञ्जयमन्त्रः) - the famous Vedic prayer from the Rig Veda for healing, protection, and liberation from the fear of death.
|| महामृत्युञ्जयमन्त्रः ||
Verse 1
ॐ त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम् । उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान्मृत्योर्मुक्षीय माऽमृतात् ॥१॥
oṃ tryambakaṃ yajāmahe sugandhiṃ puṣṭivardhanam | urvārukamiva bandhanānmṛtyormukṣīya mā’mṛtāt ||1||
Om. We worship the Three-eyed Lord (Shiva), who is fragrant and who nourishes all beings. May He liberate us from death for the sake of immortality, as a ripe cucumber is released from its stem.
॥ इति महामृत्युञ्जयमन्त्रः ॥
