|| ब्रह्मस्तोत्रम् ||

निराकारं निरालम्बं निर्विकल्पं निरामयम् । नित्यं बुद्धं परं ब्रह्म नौमि नारायणं विभुम् ॥१॥

nirākāraṃ nirālambaṃ nirvikalpaṃ nirāmayam | nityaṃ buddhaṃ paraṃ brahma naumi nārāyaṇaṃ vibhum ||1||

I bow to Narayana, the all-pervading one, who is without form, without support, without change, without disease - eternal, awakened, the supreme Brahman.

अजं शाश्वतमव्यक्तं व्यापकं सर्वसंज्ञकम् । अनन्तमविभागं च ब्रह्म तत्त्वं निरूपितम् ॥२॥

ajaṃ śāśvatamavyaktaṃ vyāpakaṃ sarvasaṃjñakam | anantamavibhāgaṃ ca brahma tattvaṃ nirūpitam ||2||

Unborn, eternal, unmanifest, all-pervading, known by all names, endless, indivisible - such is the reality of Brahman.

एकं सत्यं परं ब्रह्म नानात्वं नैव विद्यते । मृत्तिकेव हि घटादि ब्रह्मभेदः कल्पितः ॥३॥

ekaṃ satyaṃ paraṃ brahma nānātvaṃ naiva vidyate | mṛttikeva hi ghaṭādi brahmabhedaḥ kalpitaḥ ||3||

The supreme Brahman alone is the one reality; diversity does not truly exist. Just as the pot and other forms are only clay, so the distinctions in Brahman are imagined.

ब्रह्म सत्यं जगन्मिथ्या जीवो ब्रह्मैव नापरः । इति वेदान्तवाक्यानि तत्त्वमस्यादिलक्षणम् ॥४॥

brahma satyaṃ jagadmithyā jīvo brahmaiva nāparaḥ | iti vedāntavākyāni tattvamasyādilakṣaṇam ||4||

Brahman is real; the world is false; the individual self is Brahman itself, not different. Such are the teachings of Vedanta, indicated by sentences like “That thou art.”
