Chapter 9: Raja Vidya Raja Guhya Yoga - The King of Sciences
Krishna declares that this teaching is the king of sciences, the king of secrets, the most purifying, and directly realizable. Those who have faith in this teaching attain liberation; those without faith return to the cycle of birth and death.
The Pervasion
Krishna reveals that he pervades the entire universe. He is the taste in water, the light in the moon and sun, the sacred syllable Om, the intelligence of the intelligent. Yet all beings are in him, and he is not in them - a mystery that only the wise understand.
The Simple Path
Krishna emphasizes that the path of devotion is open to all. Anyone who offers him a leaf, a flower, a fruit, or water with devotion - he accepts it. No one is excluded from this path by their birth, status, or past actions.
“Even those who are born of sinful wombs - women, vaishyas, and shudras - attain the highest goal by taking refuge in me.”
The Chapter’s End
The chapter concludes with the instruction to fix the mind on Krishna, to become his devotee, to worship him, and to bow to him. One who does this, with the Self surrendered to him, will surely reach him.
Key Verses
